Throwing tuition on the potter’s wheel
£30 per hour (individual)
£20 per hour, per person (pairs)
Think Patrick Swayze in the movie 'Ghost'. Ok maybe not quite as sensual as that, but there's no denying that throwing (what we potters call making a pot on the wheel) can be a very therapeutic process, that is once you get the hang of it! Learning to throw clay will also teach you the virtue of patience, which is something that I have had to take on board during my pottery journey and all beginner students should be wary of setting their sights too high when it comes to building their skills. Beginner students can expect to throw a couple of small items in their first session, but the main thing is to enjoy the experience as a whole. Learning to throw on the wheel is about the journey, not the destination.
Tuition on the wheel is available for the individual or for pairs. Each session lasts a minimum of 2 hours. Students may book a regular slot, book sessions on an ad hoc basis or as a one off taster session.
