Clay & Me
I am an independent potter working from my home studio in in the picturesque village of Nether Stowey in Somerset. I specialise in working at the potters wheel in stoneware clay and experimenting with dipping and pouring glazes to create vivid and exciting colours to finish my pieces. My creative focus is directed towards making functional tableware. When I took to the potter’s wheel for the first time, I felt that my life was about the change forever and since then I have nurtured a passion for creating pieces that will bee used as well as admired.
Unique & Bespoke
Each piece that I create is 100% my own work. I am the organisation, the creative and the elbow grease. Everything I make is the product of hard work, a whole heap of patience and a good dollop of determination as well as a little slice of luck! I am so fortunate to have my own studio, but it is relatively small which means that each batch of pots are produced on a small scale and are therefore unique. Even within each firing, various factors mean that no two pots are ever the same. There is a big element of risk involved in my work and I rarely operate at 100% success, but that just makes my successes all the more magical when things go right.
